Understanding Your Intimate Area
The intimate area is a delicate area of the body and needs special care to maintain the vaginal flora and pH to avoid dryness, irritation, itchiness and burning sensations or other harmful vaginal infections by using the right cleansing wash containing prebiotics and practicing daily hygiene to keep the intimate area clean and minimize the risk of vulvovaginal disorders and to improve overall intimate health. The intimate area is the most important part of the women’s body and plays a major role in building self-esteem.
Understanding the pH
Intimate area pH is characterized as slightly more acidic than the rest of the body. The level of acidity in the vaginal fluids normally ranges from 3.8 to 4.5 pH. This acidity is one of the mucous membranes which acts as natural barriers against infections because it enables the development of protective vaginal flora. Thus it is important to maintain the acidic pH of the intimate area to prevent vaginal infections.
Understanding Probiotics and Prebiotics
The word probiotic refers to friendly bacteria, in other words, microbes that are good for your health. The concept of using probiotic lactobacilli or prebiotics that stimulate the growth of protective organisms emerged in the mid-1980s. However, Prebiotics are ingredients that promote the growth of friendly bacteria and are food for probiotics which helps these friendly bacteria to thrive and maintain an optimal pH balance in the intimate area and prevent infections like bacterial vaginosis and other common vaginal infections by nurturing good bacteria and eliminating the growth of harmful microbes.
